Luxury Brand Watch of 2025 - Rolex and Omega

Rolex's signature piece for 2025 will undoubtedly be the Land-Dweller. As you're probably already familiar with, I'll just briefly mention that it's not only a completely new series, but also a major milestone marking Rolex's return to the luxury sports watch market after many years. The Land-Dweller draws inspiration from the essence of the brand's first luxury sports watch, the "Oysterquartz," from the 1970s, reinterpreting it with modern craftsmanship and technology. Continuing the same dual-size strategy as its predecessors, the Land-Dweller is available in 36mm and 40mm versions. Both feature bezels in precious metals (18K white gold, 18K rose gold, and 950 platinum), exuding a luxurious feel.

Another highlight of the watch is the debut of the 7135 caliber movement. As one of Rolex's few watches with a transparent case back, the movement's details can be observed through the sapphire crystal. This is an automatic movement with a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, maintaining a 66-hour power reserve while achieving this high frequency. Furthermore, the movement is equipped with a "Dynamic Pulse" system consisting of a silicon escape wheel and escapement fork, as well as a Syloxi silicon hairspring, providing some antimagnetic capabilities.

Omega also released several new models in 2025. If I had to pick one as the most representative piece, I would lean towards the new Planet Ocean 600M. While maintaining its 600-meter water resistance, the case size has been significantly optimized, and the helium escape valve and date window have been removed, giving the watch a cleaner, more vintage look. The new Planet Ocean 600M features a sharp, angular case design. It is available with bezels in black, blue, and orange, all paired with a black dial and the series' signature 3/6/9/12 Arabic numeral hour markers and arrow hands. According to the brand, the watch draws inspiration from historical products of the 1980s and 90s, characterized by extensive use of facets and a seamless integration of the case and bracelet, which aligns with the current trend of luxury sports watch design.  The new watch features crown guards. The case back is engraved with the iconic Seahorse motif and houses the Omega Calibre 8912, equipped with a silicon hairspring and a 60-hour power reserve. This movement is Master Chronometer certified, ensuring a daily error of no more than 5 seconds and maintaining accuracy in a magnetic field of 15,000 gauss.
